Considered the greatest defensive 1st Base of all time

Is he? His 11 consecutive Gold Gloves is impressive but his #46 rank in fielding percentage (.9942) all-time makes me wonder about that. Hernandez did play 17279.0 innings at first, which is more than a lot of other players ahead of him but less than:

Rafael Palmeiro (#43 @ .9943 with 18505.0 innings)
Steve Garvey (#10 @ .9959 with 17965.1 innings)
Todd Helton (#8 @ .9962 with 18559.1 innings)

only slightly more than John Olerud (#18 @ .9954 with 17230.0 innings).

Also, If you look up any list of best defensive first-basemen, he doesn't even make the top 20.

He wasn't even the best defensive first baseman of his era, his only claim might be the 11 consecutive Gold Gloves.

You obviously didn't watch him much, let alone day after day.
