Then factor in professions that take a shite load more schooling, by the time you are out, that driver has several years of experience and making bank.


I feel like there are people that need to know these things and not go fail out of college with student loans. And we should stop looking down on these professions.

Doesn’t work like that. Rarely will someone off the street hire in to a driver position at UPS. You have to start part time and pay your dues.

1 out of every 5 hires is non union. Or it used to be. And usually that hire is a person in low management that wants to move up.

So you could probably get a masters degree in the time it takes to start part time to being hired full time to drive. Especially at the smaller package centers.
