Looking for a recommendation.
What are some of the best hiking/ camping between Franklin and Asheville NC?
Campground for tent and hiking trails nearby. Looking to hike 10-12 miles a day. Trailhead parking
Also looking for a day or two to backpack in.
Standing Indian campground was one recommendation just south of my ask
Any other ideas ?

Art Loeb is great if you have the time and can arrange a ride back to your starting point.
Cold Mountain is also a good one on the Art Loeb If you wanted to do an out and back. It has a few good campsites and views of the Great Balsams.
Like you mentioned, Standing Indian is a bit out of the way. If you wanted to drive up to Deep Gap it’s a shorter hike than from the campground a could be knocked out in 3ish hours.
