Throw Chavis in there too. Guy had a freak edge rusher and used him for containment his entire career
And had the best defense in the country. A lot of other coaches with similar talent were letting them pin their ears back against guys like Johnny Manzeil; then they watched them pursue the QB downfield.
Chavis was the only guy stopping every kind of offense he lined up against. Saban, at the same time, was struggling agaist mobile QBs.

In 2011 yes, otherwise:

Yea man Chavis was definitely a better DC than Saban guess you should’ve told Saban that when he was either hanging 50 on Chavis or marching it down the field like shite through a goose when Chavis trotted out his awful prevent defense.
Most overrated DC in the history of SEC football. I did a very deep statistical analysis on him when he left for A&M and the numbers don’t lie, he was never that good. His yards per play allowed were very bad and despite him pretending that Miles terrible ball-control offense hurt him, he greatly benefited from the low defensive snap counts. Anyone who actually watched his defenses outside of 2011 knows that they were overrated and didn’t match their overall inflated rankings
