Uhhh I suspect his reputation of not paying his bills has more to do with it.

It’s funny the the reputation of not paying is highlighted but the people who promote this seem to be contractors . I’ve worked with contractors in some fashion most of my life and I’ve seen all the additional billing tricks one can imagine. What you may call short paying others may call adjusting for over billing

There are stories of one of his lawyers having to stop representing him because it was that or being forced out of his firm by the other partners. The left trying to destroy anyone who works for Trump is undeniably a big part of it.
