Thieves wrecked & put 5,000 miles on car, how does insurance cover the mileage?

EDITING to clarify the timeline
It disappeared late night/early morning July 2nd/3rd and was in the high speed chase around 10pm on July 8th, so where you see 4 days it’s really 5 days. My bad
My daughter’s car was stolen from her apartment. Keep in mind it was 3 good tires and one spare when stolen. 4 days later it was involved in a drive by shooting which lead to a high speed chase with police that ended in the thieves crashing it into a house on a dead end street north of BRCC. They left one of their guns in the back seat as they escaped on foot.
During the 4 days they had it, they stole a new tire that was on the rim but in the trunk because air was leaking from the tire. (We were in the process of trying to find a new rim because it was bent from hitting a pothole.) They also stole a watermelon but NOT a bag of rice. guess they weren’t Cajuns.
They put 5,000 miles on her car in the 4 days they had it. We have proof of this because she purchased the new tire from Goodyear after hitting the pothole around the Burbank Rouse’s shopping center and the mileage is on the Goodyear receipt. The thieves did all of this driving on the donut/spare— including the high speed chase.
The car had 95,568 miles when they stole it, and it now has 100,500 something. So it’s not like it went from 20K to 25K. it’s at 100K now which is when a car really depreciates in value, right?
It’s a 2016 Honda civic touring. The repairs are estimated to be 10,465 dollars. So now she’ll be driving around in a crickety car that will never be the same that is significantly depreciated that is likely affiliated with Baton Rouge gangs (the drive by shooting) and I’m guessing Mexico border drug running (the 5,000 miles) and the shooters/thieves/drug runners are still on the loose and are affiliated with my daughter’s car.
any advice? Or does anyone know how to deal with the mileage part? The insurance adjuster is a complete IDIOT who NEVER returns phone calls, messages, or texts. Seriously, 10 days went by with me calling and messaging daily and this rep didn’t call me back! She finally called back and told me there was a glitch in the system!!! Do NOT do business with SAFECO. Now we MAY have to deal with them about our roof after the twister or whatever it was that hit oak hills last night…
Lost a few shingles and water dripping from attic into laundry room.
Sorry to rant. I’m at my wits end with crappy humanity right now.

Diminished value
Probably won't be worth your time to argue for it.

How did they start the car?

This may be the one in a million scenario that gap insurance would’ve been useful

That’s impossible. That’s almost 18 hours of driving every day at 70 mph.
Edit: And that’s straight driving time. That doesn’t taking into account the 12+ times they has to stop for gas, any traffic, stopping where there were driving to, etc.

Likely not covered under the 1st party coverage (most insurers exclude it from collision/comprehensive coverage).

Usually isn’t covered on first party coverage

Its the car company’s fault for making the cars too easy to steal

It’s a 2016 with 10K in repairs? How is it not totaled out?
Posted on 8/1/23 at 7:12 pm to berrycajun
It lost more value from the extra mile gained driving away from the dealer than it did in the 5,000 they had it.

Jesus frick shite. They were averaging over 60mph for over 3.5/4 days

I’m guessing they had points all along the way. That’s why i think it’s a big operation. The cops haven’t told us ANYTHING. Everyone has been complete a holes.
Today she tells me oh they stole my speeding ticket, how do I go about finding out who to call about that?
I’m like wtf

Tell Safeco you want a narcotics contamination test (Meth test). In a contaminated vehicle they will have to replace the interior. Pretty much every carrier just totals the vehicle in that situation as a biohazard.
