Been there done that. Narcotics even with whisky still made me want to tie a string to a doorknob.

Third dentist gave me a bunch of Advil when it first came out. Prescription strength was 800 mg. It worked. It was the only thing that worked.

I found that to be true for me as well. It’s was either on TD or another site were a dentist recommended 800 mg of Advil (ibuprofen) (4, 200 mg OTC) every 6 hours, and 1000 mg of acetaminophen=Tylenol (2, 500 mg OTC tablets), 3 hours after taking the 800 mg of ibuprofen, until one could see the dentist. Made the pain “manageable” as opposed to “intolerable”.
