I've seen a significant decrease in SVB activity! I know it ain't over yet. But so far I have been able to protect my pumpkins from harm. As far as I can tell.
My first Sugar Pie pumpkin is starting to turn orange! Actually, 2 of them are. I hope I get a ton so I can practice my pie making skills!
Also, one of my extra large variety pumpkins (Captain Jack) made it's first viable female flower! I noticed it yesterday afternoon. The bloom had already closed up, so I hope it got pollinated. With the amount of bees I've been seeing daily in the pumpkin vines, I'm going to assume it did. I'll check to see if it is getting any bigger this afternoon. Or if it's dying off.

What do vine borers eat when squash isn't around? I haven't had any trouble with them before. Fingers crossed that I don't start.
