Working 5 10’s year round you will get pretty close to that as a combo welder in the plants, refineries. Especially if you’re getting per diem. If you want to make 130K you can make it. If you want to make more than that, you can too. It’s all about how much you want to work. A lot of guys drag up and will take weeks off in between jobs.

The job I’m on right now they are struggling to even get welders. $41 an hour plus $500 weekly per diem not enough money for these guys.

Most guys are a bit older than 20 but it’s nothing unheard of either

thats 500 hours a year extra work. 7 extra weeks of work.

and to get that per diem....have to be out of town.

yea you can make 130k but its a very hard life with shite ton of OT


and 41 an hour...even that at 50 hours a week all 52 weeks(more than likely not working full 52 weeks) is only a little over 115k and most are not getting benefits or if they do they are dog shite..


but hey i highly encourage yall to send all of yalls sons into the trades. we need more and its less competition for my kids.
