As far as healthcare goes, why should schools have to bear that cost after playing days are over?
Maybe if they have some sort of injury while playing and again that is a big maybe.
Something that I always thought was kind of crappy was when a player committed to a school and suffered a career ending injury in High School they no longer had the scholarship offer. Maybe they should receive a scholarship that doesn't count towards the active roster but instead of playing they can serve as a trainer or in some other capacity in the Athlectic Department. It doesn't happen that often so it shouldn't be that big of a burden for the school.
