Oregon's athletic department isn't hurting for money...also if they win and SC loses to UCLA, they get in the Rose Bowl, driving up revenue from everything else that comes along with a big bowl game

From what I understand we are eliminated from any chance of going to the Rose Bowl. If we were to beat Oregon State, and USC loses to UCLA giving us all 7-2 conference records, the tiebreaker goes to Head-to-Head vs the 4th placed team, Cal. Oregon lost to Cal, USC and OSU beat Cal. Then OSU would go to the Rose Bowl since they beat USC. That was according to a Eugene Register-Guard columnist.

The Pac 10 will be secretly pulling for Oregon State to beat Oregon to get two teams in the BCS, but aside from the obvious, that Oregon wants to destroy its rival and keep them out of the Rose Bowl, pissing off Tom Hansen is a good thing.
