I have a BGE and have for a long while. I went through a period after I first got it and cooked on it the first few times where I didn't use it at all for years. I moved and built an outdoor kitchen where I had them build a spot into it for the Egg. Since then, I pretty much grill exclusively on my gas grill, but I smoke on the Egg a lot. 2 times a month or so. Chickens, Ribs, Pork Butt, Brisket, Beef Ribs, you name it. It is amazing at smoking, and grilling for that matter. I assume the PITA part is grilling on it though, because it takes some time to get it up to temp and stabilized, which to me, is not worth it for cooking burgers, steaks, pork chops, etc. I love my egg though. I use a BBQ Guru party Q to get it up to and control the temp. Stainless smoke stack regulator and kick ash basket help and are both musts in my opinion also.

The kick ash basket is a game changer. It’s cut my startup time in half. And I only need two little firestarters to get it going because airflow is so good.
