Honestly, the worst part about Baton Rouge golf is the golfers themselves.

I think the worst part about Baton Rouge golf is that so little of it is actually in Baton Rouge. Gonzales, Plaquemine, Denham Springs, Zachary, Baker.

Hopefully BREC sees what's going on at Clark and makes a concerted effort to improve Webb and City accordingly.

This is true, but also usually the case with a lot of cities. More land on the outskirts to build semiprivate courses in suburbs/neighborhoods, while the private courses are larger contiguous blocks of land nearer to the center of town (BRCC).

It's not much different if you think about it tho. My brother lives near downtown Nashville and most courses he plays are a 25-35 minute drive away, except he's driving through mostly the rest of the city. We're just driving 30 minutes to Zachary/Placquemine etc. At the end of the day, it's about the same amount of time to get there. I certainly wouldn't mind a nicer full-length public course or two within a 10-15 min drive though.
