I dont think automakers want to produce EVs
But EVs get their average MPG per vehicle produced up to meet ridiculous standards set by the feds so they can keep making trucks and SUVs that actually sell

pure speculation, but I wonder if all of these EV plants are so heavily incentivized by the inflation reduction act that they dont care?
