Can definitely question if paying a running back is a wise move in the nfl these days. Get them for 4-5 best years and let someone else pay them while drafting a younger version.

I am not opposed to giving a RB a second contract if he is performing and injury free. But the contract will be no longer than 2 years maybe 3 with a team option for the 3rd year and the price will be team friendly. If not hit the road.

Neither I.
Especially with more and more teams going away from a singular workhorse to more of a platoon aspect. It’s not necessarily the age of the running back but the mileage that concerns me. Once a back gets in that 1,700-2,000 professional touches range most start to decline.

I’d say Pierre Thomas worked out pretty well with multiple contracts.
