Supply and demand. The aviation industry as a whole, fixed wing and rotary wing in the US are critically short on future pilots. That is why you are seeing huge pay raises.

It cost roughly $100k to build the flight time to be hired by a part 121 operator to fly for the regional airlines. It cost closer to $125k to fly for a part 135 rotary operator.

Over the next decade there is increasing demand and around 75,000 pilots short of current needs. That’s not even considering growth in the industry.

Airlines pilots are responsible for more lives in a year than a doctor will be in his entire career. Yeah let’s put unqualified people in the cockpit because of automation.

How about go get your ratings, build your 1500 hours of flight time and go make that money.
