It definitely changes things, but it’s not just comparing him to Burrow. Offenses have changed drastically over the last decade and a great QB now isn’t the same as what a great QB was 15 years ago. He’s going to be compared to the elite quarterbacks that are playing today, not Rohan or JaMarcus. It’s nothing against Jayden, it’s just how it is and it’s how it’ll be for quarterbacks going forward. Hell, Myles was throwing for 300+ yards per game and people still hated him.

That is a good point. I was just thinking about it from the LSU fan perspective rather than how he compared to other QBs in the game now.

But I think you bring up another good point about Myles. He was throwing for 300/400 yds, but we were losing. Even when JD wasn't throwing for tons of yards, he was able to make plays to keep us in games & win most of them.

While I think it’s unfair and unrealistic to hold Daniels to Burrow’s standards, the way this board held Myles to Burrow’s standards was on another level. Some people legitimately expected him to match Burrow.
