When you remove the amount of time each day spent going to lunch, switching classes, having to get the class settled into working,recess, beginning of day procedures, end of day procedures, etc, you probably have 4 hours if actual instruction per day.
Extend each school day Mon - Thurs by 1 hr and you are accomplishing the same amount of learning.

Picture yourself even as an adult doing an 8-10 training in one day where you are learning new material you’re supposed to master. The adult brain would tire long before that. Children basically go insane.
