Competing wildlife extravaganzas this month

Mississippi wildlife federation has its annual extravaganza in two weekends. All weekend affair.
Agriculture commish held a similar event the following weekend last two years.
Well he decided to put it the same weekend as the other this year to knock it out of business. Same target audience, same vendors etc. Way to split the pie

It’s dumb as shite. I remember going to the extravaganza as a young kid with my family to taking girlfriends through high school and now about to have a son of my own that’ll never experience it in its entirety. The Muse Center is big but it’s not anywhere close to the old Trademart building that everyone grew up going to and certainly not the new one.

Blame the commish he placed a 90 day exclusion for similar events in the contract with his nonprofit group to keep federation out of trademart

I miss the old one too. It really was the unofficial start to the hunting season. You always would run into old friends and hunting acquaintances to get you in the mood for the upcoming season. It’s amazing how humans can find ways to mess up a good thing. I used to help friends by working in the Mean Mallard booth, and it was mind blowing how big their sales were in those four days. After they broke up the main Ganza, my son and I went to the one at the Refuge, and it just wasn’t close to the same.

Blame Commish. Trying to compete with private sector and put federation out of business.
