Manchester United 2023/24 Season Long Thread —Glazers OUT

First preseason game today ushers in a new season , the second under manager Erik Ten Hag.
He’ll be hoping to build off the EFL cup triumph last season. A top 4 finish means a return to UCL for United, will be great to see how Ten Hag's United perform in the competition first time around.
New Arrivals so far:
Mason Mount
Jonny Evans returns —-short term deal
Andre Onana
Rasmus Hojlund
Outgoings/rumored :
First Weghorst and Sabitzer are gone after their loans.
De Gea is now gone and it seems like the right time to move on. Hate how it happened, but wish him all the best and he most definitely is a club legend.
Alex Telles sold to Al-Nassr for around £5 mil
Anthony Elanga to Nott. Forest around £15 mil
Fred to Galatasaray for around £13 mil all together
Kovar to Beyer Leverkusen for around £9 mil
Get the sense Maguire, Henderson, and McTominay are players Ten Hag wants to be moved on and there have been rumors around.
Potential signings: Majority of transfers for incoming players looks to be done, but look out for late moves in August for an additional midfielder and maybe a backup keeper.
Sofyan Amrabat (CM/CDM)
Zion Suzuki (GK)
New Kits:
Premier League Schedule:
Come on Yanited!! I have full faith in Ten Hag and I like the players we've got in for this season (granted it isn't perfect, but the Glazers are taking their sweet time with this sale process so we'll have to make do for now). Lets get some more trophies and maybe even make a push for the PL title

United vs. Leeds 2-0 win, thoughts
Mount debut - he looked pretty good first time out. Other first half standouts were Diallo and Maino - he looked great in the Casemiro role.
Was impressed with a lot of the youngsters in the second half namely Emeran and Hansen-Aeron.
Ten Hag gives me hope for youth academy, he did fantastic at Ajax with their setup. I think he can emulate that here.
All that said, it’s just preseason so best not to overreact too much to it , but I saw some promising talent today.

Glazers need to get the hell on with the sale, having only one signing so far is so depressing for ETH. Board trying to say they can’t spend because of FFP is bullshite, they could sell players to free up spending room but apparently we can’t even do that.
Ten Hag is going to have to pull another rabbit out of the hat this year I fear.
Hopefully the Onana signing comes thru along with a quality Center Forward.

It's crazy how quick the offseason is. The NFL seems like it ended a year ago. Premier League seems like it ended 3 weeks ago.

I know it’s insane the turnover and how little rest these players have. Not to mention they’re playing 4 competitions in one season, it’s insane. Especially this past season with World Cup.

Just got fined for minor FFP breaches

Such a joke. Meanwhile City has over 100 breaches / allegations.
On a side note Onana deal is expected to be confirmed very soon.

André Onana to Manchester United, it’s finally here we go!
Clubs are closing in on the agreement then Onana will travel for medical tests and contract signing.
Man Utd set to request VISA for Onana for USA trip.
Ten Hag will have the new goalkeeper he wanted.
Per Fabrizio Romano. Andre Onana will be Manchester United new #1 GK.

Look I’m glad we signed Mount and Onana, but why the hell have we not signed a striker yet? It’s our most blatant need and United are still just waiting around with their dick in their hand.

Agreed I don’t understand it all. I think Hojlund is next target, but he’s not ready to start week in and week out , he’s one for the future.
We really need two strikers.

shite baw we need two strikers plus another holding midfielder. We can't keep relying on Casemiro to play every game its unrealistic.

Jonny Evans = IN
League = fricked
League = fricked

Very happy about the Onana signing, I’ve thought he was world class since first seeing him in the Ajax champions league run. Good piece of business as well
I don’t know if we really need another midfielder. If we get good value on someone thats a different story but we all know that rarely happens with United. Ideally Mainoo, Hannibal takes those spots and start to get Cup starts and eventually PL minutes.
Finish the summer with some smart sells and a Maguire replacement and Hojlund. And then have some money left to go for Toney in the winter unless we reintegrate Greenwood into the squad.

They want at least €80 million and apparently €20 million more in add ons
Also Johnny Evans is back as a United player

80 mil is ridiculous, I think 55 including add ons should be the max United spend.
Posted on 7/18/23 at 4:43 pm to tigerfan24736
Telles just been sold for around £5 mil to Al-Nassr. Terrible price
Posted on 7/18/23 at 5:41 pm to tigerfan24736
He cost us £15 million what 4 years ago
Also pretty sure it was the last year of his contract
Better than loaning him out and seeing him walk on a free
