Terry Bradshaw

According to his teammates on the Steelers (most of whom didn't particularly care for him), in the locker room he'd speak quietly and normally, until the reporters came in. When Bradshaw realized cameras were on him, he'd start screaming things like "Me and mah boys got more ways to win than a hound dawg has fleas" in a Dukes Of Hazzard voice. He's still doing that shtick on the Fox TV coverage.

well, not that any of you would believe it, but My uncle roomed with him for a semester at Tech and said that he was a pretty cool guy
Then again, I guess times have changed.

fascinating that he would play up his personality for the cameras? i'm not surprised. i like bradshaw but he does seem like the type of person who has an on camera persona and an off camera persona

When he talked did he say all that "We're eating hominy grits in tall cotton" type stuff?

He has made a lot of money because of his "in front of the cameras" personality...pretty small guy.

He has a biography that tells about his difficult battle with alcohol. That is one of the reasons he has been so crazy on camera over the years. I loved his daytime talk show, too bad it only lasted a short time. My family are Raiders fans and they have been all of their lives so they hate the fact I even watched Terry B. on TV. I think he is pretty funny most of the time but I agree he can be a bit over the top at times.

I don't have a link, but can recall an interview he did a number of years ago on 60 minutes (if memory serves) where he talked about his alcohol issues, as well as his depression issues.
It something that he still battles and takes meds for. He admitted that some of what he did is schtick, but felt that he was under [ressure to act that way, due to his success in the NFL, and in subsequent businesses.
I'm happy for anyone who can overcome depression, alcoholism, extra and finally feel comfortable in who they are.
Good for Terry.

I agree. He's a class act. Just a bit goofy. What's wrong with that?

I'll never forget what Bradshaw did after Katrina. What a great guy. He stood up for New Orleans Saints fans and the state of Louisiana when no one else would.

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw said Wednesday he wants to put a potential ownership group together that would attempt to buy the New Orleans Saints and keep them in Louisiana, where Bradshaw grew up.
"I'm supporting the citizens of Louisiana who don't deserve to lose the Saints because of a hurricane," said Bradshaw, who starred for Louisiana Tech before winning four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
