I think it's a little presumptuous to just slot Jones into the lineup next season.

He's got a lot of work to do at the plate
He slashed .304/.426/.640 as a true freshman with 14 HR and 45 RBI in 55 games in the toughest conference in the country. He is 100% hitting in the middle of the order on opening day.

ETA: Downvoters clearly aren't paying attention to what's going on with Jones in the Cape right now.

It's been 8 at bats.

I think it has more to do with picking up where he left off this season, than just the 8 ABs.

He’s got a lot of work to do and if he can put it together halfway, he will still be a great power threat.

That was his overall stats. much of which he picked up prior to SEC Play.

His SEC stats were .259/.375 /.459 with 5 HR and 19 RBI in 25 SEC games.

By comparison, JT was .254/.371/.518 with 7 HR and 26 RBI in 29 SEC games.

The real question is where will he be hitting come SEC play. He stays there if he fixes his problem with breaking/off-speed stuff. Otherwise, he does not.
