When you say Netflix without VPN, you mean for the country you're in though, right? So there will be some US shows that aren't going to be there? Thanks for the info on ESPN and the others. I will save this post and hopefully you'll see if I ping you down the line

ETA: how have you done on LSU football games over these last 5 years? And yes, I know the time difference is a big factor, so what's been your play?

I've watched LSU and Saints games on the ESPN and CBS Sports apps on my iPad in many countries. You can usually mirror your screen if the hotel has newer TVs.

Thanks, glad to help. For Netflix, I don't use a VPN connection. I haven't noticed any real difference in selection options. I get suggested German movies sometimes because I guess I'm physically in Germany with a German IP. There hasn't been anything that I've wanted to watch that wasn't available though.

With the LSU games I would say I've done well. The most interesting was watching the Jan 2020 National Championship game. It started around 2:00am here. I posted online and got 4 other people from the US to come and watch it at a bar.

As for other games, I usually try and just stay up and watch the games. It's the only time I like the 11:00am central games because they start at 6pm here! I still would rather LSU play at night. I have a projector (which a lot of people do here) and stream it through the Apple TV and my Homepods. It works great. The biggest problem is when LSU is on CBS. Their app doesn't play as well internationaly so I have to find a stream the few times that happens.

The biggest factor in watching the games live for me is that if they lose, I won't watch the replay. It's the same for the Pelicans and Saints games.

All in all, it's not as hard as it would have been just 5-10 years ago. You can watch what you want, talk when you want, and write when you want with the internet.
