Trading guitars can be some crazy stuff...

.. so, the other day, I bought an Epiphone Les Paul junior in an almost new Epiphone hardshell case for 200 bucks at a pawn shop. I wanted the case for a particular guitar.
The guitar had some very nice upgrades done on it( Seymour Duncan Phat Cat pickup, CTS pots, Grover tuners, and a nice wrap around bridge with adjustable saddles), nice little guitar, but it's still an Epiphone Les Paul Junior, and the world is overrun with them.
Anyway, I traded places out with the bridge and tuners, for the standard StewMac stuff on my kit LP jr guitar. Easy swap.
Well, I got something I want to do, and I decided that I need to thin the guitars out a little bit.
There's a place not far from my house that was advertising that they buy guitars.
I took a beautiful Epiphone Masterbilt AJ 500, one of the early ones, with a decent Pickup setup in it, an absolutely perfect Squier Classic Vibe 60s Mustang, and that Epiphone LPjr.
I thought I might get a hundred bucks out of the LPjr. and decent offers for the others, but... that was absolutely backwards. They lowballed me on the good ones, and offered double what I expected for the LPjr.
I've got a free Epiphone Les Paul case now... not to mention those upgrades to my StewMac kit guitar, that I really love.

What are you seeking for the Mustang?

Since we're not supposed to use this site as a marketplace, I'm going to use the standard OT answer of "tree fiddy". serious face emoji goes here

Would that tree fiddy be more or less than I paid for that Nashville Tele?

Trying to remember, but I think it would be treeless.

Nope, I threw my cell phone away.
You can email me, and I'll give you my landline number.
you know, whoever got your text though, has probably got a guitar in their closet. If they text you back, it might be a racehorse deal

Not surprised. I have encountered this. They move more cheap stuff so they can give a little more because they know it will move.
I got a little (and I mean little, tiny) Hotone Bass Wah pedal as kind of a throw in on another trade. I didn’t really need it as I don’t use expression pedals, and the thing is tiny and unusable with my big feet. So I took to Guitar Center figuring they might give me $15 or less. I don’t know where they researched but they gave me $70. Crazy, they’re less than that online.
On Guitar Center, whatever you think of them, they are so big, they just do weird nonsensical stuff sometimes.
I got a tip online a while back and went in and asked the clerk to check price on Fender bass strings. They were priced on the floor for $27.99 which is par for the course. They came up $5. I bought all 7 packs they had.

Do you live around Auburn these days? I was in that Spicer's music the other day, Their pedal selection was incredible. I've never seen that many in one place, and I aint even into pedals, but I almost bought one just for a souvenir.
I do need a compressor pedal though, I'm going back over there with that in mind.

I’m in Bham area. Compressor for guitar?
High End: Empress, Cali76, or Universal Audio Max
Mid: Keeley Pro or Wampler Ego
Budget: Joyo Dyna Comp
Personal rec: Niche devices Humboldt - Awesome compressor/pre. I’m telling you, check it out. It’s so damn good you won’t believe it. It’s never leaving my board.
