The futur is a little fatter. Merkur has a couple handles that are of the thicker variety though. I'm.sure you can find a ton on eBay. If you're new though, I recommend a matte futur and start at setting 1 and slowly work up to 3-4 for a good daily shave. I say the matte bc it still has some grip to it after it gets wets.
