To be fair, I don’t shave my head, and I can see how that would be more difficult. The trick to traditional shaving is short, straight passes. Heads aren’t really built for that. I’ll die on the hill that a DE safety beats the breaks off a cartridge razor for shaving one’s beard, but I’ll defer to my shiny headed brothers regarding what’s best for shaving up top.

I think it's pretty simple, you can't see most of your head when you're shaving it. You then need a cartridge razor to keep the blade from direct connection with the wrinkles in your scalp.
