Benjamin Banneker personally wrote the hypocrite Jefferson in 1791.....
" This sir , was a time in which you clearly saw into the injustice of a State of Slavery , and your abhorrence thereof was so excited, that you publicly held forth this true & invaluable doctrine...' We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal'..........
Here Sir , was a time in which your feelings for yourselves had thus engaged you to declare, you were impressed with the proper ideas of LIBERTY, the free possession of those blessings to which you were entitled by nature. But Sir, how pitiable is it to reflect, that although you were so fully convinced of the benevolence of the Father of Mankind, and of his equal & impartial rights.......that you should at the same time counteract his mercies, in detaining by fraud & violence so numerous of my brethren under gnashing captivity & cruel oppression, that you should be found Guilty of that most criminal act....."-Banneker

quote:
“in Order to form a more perfect Union…”
The Founding Fathers never claimed the new country was perfect but they produced a document that would guide them and future generations on a never-ending path to make the country more and more “perfect” over time.
