This year, we’re celebrating the Fourth in a big way: with the completion of the world’s largest knitted American flag! Using telephone poles as knitting needles and two large excavators as arms, multidisciplinary artist Dave Cole will attempt to create the world’s largest American flag on the Momentary campus before your very eyes!

Pretty cool and he’s doing it live so people can come watch.

He’s made one before but the one he’s making this weekend will be the biggest ever.

I don’t know much about knitting but are the stripes supposed to be vertical like that?

That's damn cool.

Hopefully nobody gets offended and it can stay up.

That does look odd from the photo, but we're looking at it like its being built top to bottom, but its going from left to right, so it will keep getting wider with the stripes running horizontal.

Yeah I’m dumb. It’s obviously being knitted horizontally

This actually goes against the rules of the American flag.

Probably not, but I’m cutting slack for heavy equipment and telephone poles.

Not really. I'm a knitter and there are a lot of guys that knit. A few male designers too.
