Breaking News: The Supreme Court rejected affirmative action at Harvard and UNC. The major ruling curtails race-conscious college admissions in the U.S., all but ensuring that elite institutions become whiter and more Asian and less Black and Latino.

MSNBC claims now that affirmative action has been ruled unconstitutional, there will only be 3 black students per law school class.

MSNBC legal analyst @cchristian_LA on SCOTUS outlawing racial discrimination in college admissions: "I fear what will happen. Will there by many lawyers who look like Charles and I in the future? Or doctors? Or accountants? It is a problem. It is not preferential treatment."

MSNBC legal analyst @CFColemanJr: "What you’re doing is you are limiting people’s access to the American Dream, and that is something that we have not really been honest about in our discussion ... Now we’re going to see that segregation become wider and wider."

Oklahoma banned Affirmative Action in public education in 2012.

The University of Oklahoma has only gotten more diverse since then, not less.

Christian: "Clarence Thomas, you know, he has criticized Affirmative Action. That’s how — that’s one of the reasons why he graduated from Yale and we know that’s one of the reasons why he’s on the Supreme Court."

NAACP's @DerrickNAACP: "Clarence Thomas, who benefitted from [Affirmative Action] & now is in a position where he’s going to deny many young African American[s] an opportunity ... [policy was meant] to ensure that we have a diverse population & not an Apartheid reality"

MSNBC's @esglaude: "We will return to elite institutions, more specifically being the space for a particular population, predominantly white & Asian students. We will begin to see a kind of segregated higher education landscape."

Al Sharpton weighing in on SCOTUS decision on Affirmative Action: "I think that this is tantamount to sticking a dagger in our back because what they have said now is that it is unconstitutional to even consider race..."

The access and opportunity are still there... You just have to actually work for them...

It's wild seeing all the blatant racists condemning this decision out in the open.

Are blacks still allowed to own property & drive on the interstate after todays ruling? I heard a preschool immediately allowed children to play cowboys and Indians right after the white supremacist court gave their judgement. No minorities will ever get into college again, even Asians who overwhelmingly score higher than whites until this ruling.

So what they’re saying is white and Asian people are smarter than black and Latino people, who could only get in based on a rule that says they have to admit X amount of black and Latino people….. and Republicans are the racists????

It really is amazing to see. But people only look at the surface of all these claims. They don’t go one level deeper and say, “What, cause I’m black I can get into school?!”

These people are being blatantly racist because the people they pander to either can’t or won’t see it right in front of their faces and they allow it.

If we all show up to vote in 2024, we can win the Senate, win the White House, expand the court, and reverse every heinous, illegal, and unconstitutional ruling the Trump-appointed MAGA SCOTUS has ever made. Put all of your anger/despair/frustration into voting and winning BIG.

EXPAND THE SUPREME COURT.

This is the face of a man who climbed the ladder of affirmative action to his present perch of power only to help destroy the very ladder on which he ascended. This is not only the mark of deep ingratitude & disavowal of history, but a withering betrayal of justice & democracy.

Replying to @Christo24881262
That and Roe. Time to expand the court. We can add 4 more justices according to the constitution.

I’m pretty sure the Asians are thrilled too. I mean they only busted their asses off to be told we don’t want you by these inclusive and diverse universities.

What they are really saying is minorities are not smart enough to get into the school off of merits and abilities.

That is more racist than anything the SCOTUS ruled on.
