We can ignore that reality up until the point of the revolution or plan for it.
I do agree with this for real. We should absolutely be planning for it. The problem is we have clowns in office who are more worried about your kid's inner gender selection than running a functional country..
The answer is not to slow down innovation. That's a double down on bad planning, and would be a gift to all of our international competitors.
ETA: I mean for example, I started using chatgpt and some plugins at my business a couple of months ago. I full realize and appreciate that this technology will eliminate 30-50% of entry level white collar job necessity. I use excel alot, I have spdshts ontop of spdshts on top of spdshts, and I feel I'm extremely above average proficient in excel, bard can do an hour of excel work for me in 5 seconds. It's not that I dont know how to do it, it's just that Bard can do it in 95% less time; and Bard can output a formula to just copy and paste directly into excel. For the first time in my life, I thought, shite UBI might have to become a thing if productivity is going to launch off like this. I hate the idea of UBI, but I think we should be thinking about solutions to this AMAZING problem to have, rather than eliminating the innovation, fk that.
