Had a GF that would gamble on the quiet. I worked nights and she worked days. She lost a good bit and blamed me for working nights and not being there for her. I bailed her out when she blew her pay checks. She would float checks at the bar in hopes of winning and buying the check back. That didn't work out a few times. We didn't last long when I told her that was the last time I would help her.


I witnessed people getting freaked out when they couldn't get on the video poker machines at the crowded bars. One time I was offered money to get off a VP machine. The guy seemed very desperate. Things only got worse when the jackpots went from $500 to $1000.
