My first memories of LSU baseball are listening to the 1989 A&M regional when they came out of the loser's bracket and beat no. 1 Aggy twice to reach Omaha. Pat Garrity TYFYS
quote:

3- 1996 - Warren's walk-off - screamed like a girl
Everyone remembers Morris's homer but not him throwing out a guy at the plate or Ray Wright robbing Miami of a homer. Also, I was with friends at a party in Ocean Springs and the place just went bananas. Hit my head on a ceiling fan (low ceiling). Will never forget that as long as I live.

7- 1993 - The Long Beach State comeback. Came back out of the losers bracket.
Brett Laxton FTW and this was my senior year.
quote:

1- 1991 - You always remember your first. I was a wide eyed 13 yr old LSU super fan that thought winning a natty in anything was a pipe dream.
I was on the Reveille sports staff and got to watch a lot of baseball that year. It was awesome. Listened to it on the radio in my Oakbrook apartment.
quote:

2- 2023 - The resurgence of the program under a couple of generational players.
So rewarding to see LSU return to the pinnacle. As GOATed as Crews and Skenes are, it was phenomenal to see literally the entire team contribute in the final game. Everyone had a hit, had an RBI, and scored a run. What a stat!
quote:

4- 2000 - Cresse walk off - Skips last one
Cresse drove me crazy because he was such a dead pull hitter, and after he struggled that CWS he finally pulled one in the right spot.
quote:

5- 2009 - The First one under the new 3 game format. Last one in the old Johnny Rose.
Louis Coleman was FILTHY.
quote:

6- 1997 - Blanking Bama in the title game after losing to them 28-2 earlier that year
Four nattys in seven years cementing LSU as the premier baseball program.

Agreeing with you when I say that Doug Thompson nailed it on the broadcast that to win the championship your stars need to star but the “little guys” have to be clutch when it matters. I do remember Ray Wright leaping into the crowd to steal back the home run. Armando Rios’ double off the wall, smaller moments are etched in my memory as Will the image of Milazzo tagging out the fully horizontal Wake player diving for the plate. Think about that catch Pearson (9-hole hitter) made AND he hit a 2-run bomb in THE championship game - unreal! I wish Cade Beloso had won the CWS MVP. Skenes just did what he does - Cade stepped up at the big moment(s)

Ray Wright was in 2000 against Stanford
