Larry Holmes and Trevor Berbick both beat Ali. Holmes had the 3rd longest reign as world champ ever but he was “old” so it doesn’t count. Marciano beat an old Lewis that’s it but it’s never held against him in this way. Fury beat an old Klitschko but it’s not held against him. There are plenty of other all timers who’s names were made off of beating old champs but it isn’t held against them, Holmes included. Again only Tyson is criticized using this double standard and it’s overwhelmingly by people who didn’t witness his career.
