What a stat. Both excellent but Paul was simply better.

Not really. They were relatively even. Neither starter allowed a run. Skenes gave LSU an extra inning but Lowder only threw 88 pitches. Wake just doesn’t push its guys as far because of its normally stout bullpen.

The difference was LSU’s bullpen was slightly better than Wake’s.

If you are objective, this isn’t true. Lowder threw significantly fewer pitches and was still cruising when he was pulled. As good as Skenes was, Lowder was at least as good.
