Anyone who has ever coached competitive ball will tell you - coach to win the next game. ESP in an elimination scenario. Looking past the current game gets you burned way too often.
The #1 team won’t go easily. Throw Skenes.
If the bats get you way up, then you can pull him and save. But we’re taking 5+ runs.

Or if the bats get you up, you throw him the complete game and let the rest of the staff rest.
