Think about when you were a 13 year old trying to figure out a relatively complicated algebra problem. You're having to try and focus hard so you can work it out in your brain. Now think about doing that while having a little computer box on your hip that buzzes, or beeps every 15 seconds. A little computer box that you basically base your life around.

People advance on the margins. Struggle is one of the better motivators to challenge yourself mentally.
