Anyone here a CMA (Certified Management Accountant). I bought the Gleim study material and just started studying. I been working as a Project Accountant for the past 8 years and want to advance in my career. Any study tips or advice? Thank you.

My daughter is a CMA, but that's all I got for you. No study tips. Good luck.

I actually never knew there was such a thing as CMA's (I had only heard of CPA's) until my daughter became one.

Get the certification more because you find the material valuable for whatever you do. It’s not a well known certification and it won’t open a bunch of doors but it’s probably more useful skillset than even the CPA.

CPA will have much more prestige and recognition.

I’ve never done the CMA, but for the CPA, I’d outline the material, then just hammer MCQs and case studies until I knew the material well.

I didn’t watch a single Becker video after my first week of studying.

Everyone’s learning style is different so find out what works best for you. For me it’s writing things down and then applying the knowledge directly to problems.

Eta: set a schedule, studying and working full-time can be challenging, but stay disciplined. I would get up at 4:30, workout and then study from 5:30-7:30 am and then study again 6:00-8:00 pm, usually focusing on concepts I struggled with in the am for that subject.
