For several years after the game a sign was placed between the bordering states on the Mississippi side. "You are now entering Mississippi. Please set your clock back four seconds."
Uhh - I believe it was actually "You are now entering Louisiana. Please set your clock back four seconds." - right? placed so people leaving Mississippi into La. could see it.
"08, '58, '03, '07 and next year". - 1908? Football wasn't even the same game then. A TD wasn't even 6 points.

The Jackson, MS newspaper, the next day, in reference to the 1 second left on the clock, had as their sports headline, "Ole Miss 16, LSU 10+7".
The next year, we played them in Jackson (Ole Miss and Miss. St. both played their home games in Jackson back then). Ole Miss had their legendary coach, Johnny Vaught back, and they were primed for the upset. The game was an afternoon game on ABC. Brad Davis ran all over them, and the final score was something like us winning 51-17.
The Sunday morning Baton Rouge Advocate ran the headline, "Ole Miss 17, LSU 10+7+7+7+7+7....".

It may have been, "You are now leaving Louisiana....." I actually never saw the signs but read about that.
As to '08 (1908). This has always been a bane to True Old Time Tiger fans. We were undefeated and by some polls number one.
We do not count it, but it sure had a nice ring. My Dad would always smile when he said it.
