Gave me some time to see some of the sights in town and give my legs a break.

There's no leg breaks in skiing! . I feel you though, nice to take a break and see the sights of the town. How is Banff as a destination spot?

Alyeska is probably on top of my ski bucket list at this point.

I'd make it a priority to get out here this season, it's excellent conditions so far. The hotel Alyeska is great too, I've gotten great rates on hotels for com for here (was $115/night for this week)

Usually I can go hard but the new boots took a toll, wasn't really until day 3 where they got to feeling solid.

I would say it is a great destination spot, you have two top 30 ski resorts in North America and a small lowkey resort in Norquay. There is a ton of non-skiing experiences that you can do as well. Great mass transit system in Banff, can shuttle to any mountain for free. Tons of great places to eat, maybe the one negative outside of how cold it can get is slopeside lodging is limited. So if ski in/ski out is your thing there isn't a lot of that.

I really want to go back in the summer at somepoint and explore the national park some more.
