The reason the congress dropped the contempt was they got what they wanted: Chris Wray gave them the 1023 document.
The document 1023 was shown in front of the House Oversight committee today. The 1023 implicates the entire Biden family. Rep. Comer says as much as 10 million dollars.
Apparently the pay for play scheme has been going on since 2017.
Now they have to subpoena all of the shell banks to confirm the total amount of money the Bidens were shuffling.
