If you don't mind me asking, how long were you with the Employer & how many weeks of severance did they offer?

My advice:

1) File for your state unemployment today. You have paid into the system and this is what it is for.

2) Identify a Resume Writing Service. I found them helpful before. They know keyword algorithms for the opportunities that you are looking for. It shouldn't be more than $200-$300.

Once you get your resume in a place that you are super proud of, you will feel like you got some momentum and it will give you confidence each time you submit it.
