Bigger seems like it would be better weight and coverage wise.

I’ve found that the RTP stuff is the most expensive but also the heaviest and specifically designed to drill into cover crop

So, while it’s a couple thousand more expensive, it’s also significantly heavier so it’s not like you’re getting ripped off

Probably just sitting in dry dirt. If that is the case, then no rain is better than a 1/4” rain.

The latter part happened. Some beans are sprouting but I’m afraid they won’t make it. It’s dry as a bone with wind taking my topsoil.

That's too bad you missed out on the rain this week. We didn't get a ton but got about an inch or so over three days it doesn't solve the drought but it should get us by another week or so to hopefully get a little more rain....

We have been getting rain everyday this week.

There is an “unsettled weather pattern” sitting on top of us this week.

Hopefully it will move south and help you all out some.

Already dry as a bone out there again lol.

The millet appears to be coming up. Might just be grass though

I’m pretty good rn. I got almost 5” last week and I was begging for it to stop. It laid 100+ trees down.

Had a dozer going today to start getting them cleared from roads/duck holes/food plots.

From dry as a bone to please stop storming in about 48hrs. Vetch looks good though

I never could find any vetch unfortunately

Hopefully deep lay off my clay peas and let them grow until August.

I did some no-till with my vetch this year.

I took my du-all and had the choppers barely on the ground/might not have touched half the time and I didn’t have the boards on. As of now, it looks the best it has ever looked.
Rolled/du-allled/crimped/knocked down my fall planting then planted

We got about 4" last week it helped tremendously however we also had a tornado touch down on the place got us and sounds like it got our neighbor worse. It was a mess in northern Claiborne Co.

All of our stuff is coming up pretty good the stuff I planted in late April (beans in large box vetch in small seed box) really looks good. I have some clay peas and vetch I need to spray again but things look good for the moment.

Sorry to hear about the tornado!

The deer were eating my clay pea sprouts last night, in the rain no less.

Funny how this works. Lol

We got probably 5” and maybe more. It’s rained at some point everyday since last weekend.

Sunflowers and millet look great (dove field)
Haven’t planted anything else.

May go grab some peas or vetch and see how it does.

Bump for pics. Is this clay peas or hairy clustervine?

Look at the millet and clay pea field. If those above are clay peas, we doing good.

That looks great. We’ve been getting rain a couple times a week in Amite county.

Watching four deer in that field from the camp right now. You can’t beat food plots. They won’t do this at a feeder. Not while it’s still sun outside.

Hairy clustervine in top and bottom pic.

Hope you have more of the middle pic. Was it bitten off or are they only that tall?

What kind of millet did you plant and at what rate?

Got some very young under the millet.
Planted browntop millet at about 20 lbs and acre. Mixed in 10 lbs an acre of the clay peas. I got that clustervine all over though. Also the Carolina Horsenettle is bad in there too. The drought fricked me and let those two take root
