They hate it because it isn’t burning fuel, buying overpriced lunch and dumping kids with the statists 24/7. All with zero profit margin

Ah! tradwife ... traditional wives.
Anything CNN hates, you should be on the lookout to support. This is a great example.
I see a growing segment of conservative couples wanting to demonstrate their values this way. Mothers that stay at home [at least for early development of children through grade school] can impart lasting values to their children. This, opposed to students at EDP [extended day program] at school or being entertained watching porn on a computer at 12 because no one is around. I've seen the later in my wife's family -- that 12 year old never made it past 32 because of those values brought on by absent parents.
It's fringe to the CNN writer... because all they see is what they want to see [barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen] but it's really more popular than Bud Light right now.
