I've been traveling for work for almost 30 years. 1 or 2 days a month isn't very much travel.

At that pace you will have a hard time getting much (if any) status with the airlines or hotels, which to me was the primary perk of having to travel all the time.

Being able to get on a plane first so you can put your stuff in the overhead bins instead of at your feet might not sound like much, but when you are on airplanes all the time every little bit of comfort you can squeeze out of the system, counts.
