would have expected Electrician to get approval from owner prior to getting a separate contractor to do work. Fixing a field drain break? Maybe two boots and a scab of pipe 50 dollars material, 50 dollars labor

Ya, I dont really know why he didnt just fix it himself.
I dont think the electrician should eat it, but this could have been handled so much better by both parties.
