Not necessarily a collector yet but got into knife sharpening with Japanese whetstones over the last year. Wife wanted her near 30 year old set of Chicago Cutlery knives sharpened. After watching dozens of videos on how to and then falling arse backwards down a YouTube rabbit hole I'm hooked. I get my knives at estate sales, garage sales and thrift stores for a few bucks. I'm planning to replace the handles on a few and eventually would like to make my own. I had no idea until I got into doing this how huge the knife sharpening and knife building community is. It's also very therapeutic for me to work with my hands and learn a craft and escape all the daily BS I have to deal with at my day job.

That is awesome. I need to learn how to use a strop. Any advice is appreciated.

This is me.
I will not pass up a kitchen knife if it is a good price especially an older Chicago Cutlery.
I also look for Old Hickory but will take a good look at any if it is cheap enough.
