At the time it was a deterrent. Not to fight.

How'd that work out?

Why was he sending weapons to a non-nato member on Russia's border?

He released it because it had already been voted on and appropriated by Congress. You know, the way the constitution guarantees our government operates?

*From Raytheon*

I have no problem with him doing that instead of just sending straight cash, but it could easily be pointed out that he simply hooked up his MIC establishment buddies instead of hooking up the embassy.

quote:

instead of just releasing the money to the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine for them to distribute to their best buddy contractors Trump purchased $500 million in stinger missiles from Raytheon

Think about this sentence...

Because it was so good Trump copied Ronald Reagan's foreign policy philosophy; Peace Through Strength.

You guys are missing the point completely. Why was trump spending hundreds of millions of dollars to fund a country's army on Russias border that is not a member of NATO?

Less corruption? Awesome. Now why was he sending them weapons and money?

Do you guys support sending Ukraine weapons and money or just when your guy does it? I honestly can't keep up with this logic.

Would you call this a success? How'd that plan work out?

Are we now the world police? Why are we sending US tax payers dollars and Americans military weapons to a country on Russias border that has no alliance with us?

My understanding is that Trump wanted to make sure the money was all going to defend itself and not to corrupt oligarts and Ukrainian politicians as before. The money and the deal had already been approved, Trump had held back one of the payments because he wanted to see who won the election first. Once the right guy had won, trump pretty much had to go along, he just wanted assurances of where the money was going to spent on.
Ukraine has been known for years as one of the leading corruption countries in the entire world. Trump had been pushing back on all expenses at the time. he even renegotiated the price for his new Air Force 1 plane. Most wouldve just said, "we're getting a new plane, awesome", but not Trump, the President of the people. Trump wanted a much better price for the plane.
He also pushed back on Nato to pay their fair share.... And was renogotiating NAFTA... and many other ridiculous Washington ignorance and corruption.

The issue with that phone call, Zselensky did have Trump's back btw, was that the globalists didnt want the new President of Ukraine looking into the Biden's. Which is all over the news now. Trump again was right on the money. Its almost Nastradamus like with trump, every month we see he was dead on, the entire time. The US media, along with house and the senate just kept lying about everything Trump was doing or just not covering his successes at all. Tyranny my friends is what this is called everywhere else.

Once Trump told Zelensky, that he didnt mind giving them the money as long as it went where it was supposed to go. He told Zelensky on the call, You ran for President telling everyone you were going to cut down on the corruption, why dont you start with the Bidens and a Ukrainian oil Company called Burisma. The globalists and the US Democrats did not want that. They had just convinced the FBI, THE DOJ and the Cia to bury the Clinton Crimes. They couldnt have Biden now exposed, because he was most likely going to run for US President. So they did what any Dictatorship country would do and
impeached Trump over a phone call that at least 15 people were on and no one thought anything was not appropriate. Even Zelensky himself and all the Ukrainins that were on the call were cool with the call. It made sense, We will give u the money but we want assurances that this tax payers money was all going to where it was supposed to go.
But the Democrats didnt care that Zelensky himself didnt feel bribed and the call was clearly an appropriate call.

They had to stop Trump period any way any how. See the 2020 election and Covid.
The reason for the call from Trump to Zelensky in the first place was simply to congratulate Zelensky on the victory and to discuss the money. As they were speaking the Ukrainian corruption came up and Trump mentioned why dont u start with the Biden's. Obviously something was up with Burisma giving Hunter 83k a month to sit on their board, Hunter Biden had zero experience in the oil and gas industry. Any1 with a brain should know they werent paying Hunter for his expertise but for pay to play and other influences which is now all over the news. Go figure.

And as a side note Joe Biden had no issue with a Fossil fuel company paying Hunter millions of dollars, but now is doing everything he can to put the oil and gas industry out of business. Hypocrite anyone?

Sending money now is basically saying we are at war with Russia.

Remember the war wasn't happening until a year ago (according to Ukraine supporters) so arms sent there were to help prevent war.

Ronald Reagan implemented Peace Through Strength. Donald Trump copied it. If no wars (minus a couple of minor conflicts in each admin, Falkland's and Syria) is the metric both worked out well.

So it was a good thing that Trump armed Ukraine on Russias border who wasn't apart of NATO?

You're happy with that decision?

We had over a thousand page thread on this board starting in 2017 that predicted all that we are witnessing concerning Biden corruption. It was deleted.

So the executive branch has no operating power on how we allocate funds and weapons?

So none of the current issues are Bidens fault?

I'm not happy or sad. It's just what it is. That money was appropriated in congressional spending and I'm sure the people at the end of the gravy train probably were expecting the money to flow has it normally had in the past through the executive branch.

WOW! That's what you resort to..

Yes Trump has.

That's nothing to do with this topic. That's an attempt to change directions.
