I spent a few years in Angola not long after the civil war ended and traveled around the place more than your average ex-pat. It was easy to see how naturally beautiful the place could be, beaches, waterfalls, etc. Old pictures of Luanda along the bay show how nice it once was, especially in the 1960’s. There’s some pretty spectacular beaches and isles there that could be very special if Angola wasn’t overrun with corruption. I still have pics somewhere of a 5 day road trip we did over the Xmas and NYE holidays. Great time. We camped out in tents on a beach near Lobito for NYE. They water was filled with phytoplankton and the beach was glowing like a Michael Jackson video. Not my photos but it looked something like this.
