Usually politicians like to steer money back to their districts and neighborhoods as a campaign tool to attract voters to ensure their re-election.

Legislative leaders in Louisiana are entrenched in Baton Rouge, and don’t need help getting re-elected.

In Louisiana, Legislators blatantly steer money back home to line the pockets of their friends, family, and business associates. If you complain, then your district gets nothing. If you play ball, then one day you can be in a leadership role, or even transition to a lobbyist role that gets you a cut of those funds.

Someone needs to figure out these new tactics and do something about it!
