This is a hell of a haul with the family.... will be great memories if yall are able to pull it all off.
Like many had said in previous posts... I would focus on getting all you can out of the natural stuff... a nice break in the action from some of the hikes etc with the things yall have planned, but most of Big Sur and some of these other areas are best seen by the small hikes or detours....
also, I didn't pay attention to when yall are traveling but make sure HWY 1 is open. I do know they were still doing repairs on it and it was NOT clear to drive all the way south.
